Exactly what I've been looking for!

I don't do product reviews but felt compelled to in this case. I was a brunette and am 18 months into the process of grey blending. I have searched high and low and tried all sorts of products to get rid of brassiness and warm tones and give my grey/brown hair a cool tone of steel. Nothing worked. until this product does exactly that! It's so easy to use - apply with gloves in the shower, comb through, wait a couple of minutes and rinse out -voila! And, it conditions and makes my hair feel soft and great.

Blue tones

I’ve been using this charcoal on my natural silver hair. However my hair has a blue tone to it. Many friends are making statements like “Why is your hair going blue” Is this common?

Hi Tara,

Thanks for your review and for reaching out.

What you're seeing is likely due to the buildable nature of the pigment tones in the Charcoal Masque. When used repeatedly without allowing the tone to fully wash out (which usually takes around 4–8 shampoos), the pigment can layer and become more intense over time — especially on natural silver hair.

Charcoal has a green-black undertone, which can sometimes appear bluish or “steel”-like, particularly on lighter hair. If you're noticing more colour than you'd like, we’d recommend using it less frequently, around every 5th shampoo.

If your goal is to keep your natural silver looking bright without adding too much depth or tone, you might prefer the Blond Treatment. It helps maintain brightness, while Charcoal is better for add more depth and tone.

Let us know if you have any other questions, we’re more than happy to help.

Bright

Lovely surprise. After only 2 applications the Charcoal is working. I have various shades of black through to white in my hair. Each layer is looking brighter. A silver sheen. I prefer this to a good violet shampoo I tried. Charcoal is great. And not required every time I wash my hair. A bit drying, so conditioner definitely needed. Overall, Very happy with the result . Thanks.

Thank you for your review, Marise. We are glad to hear that you are enjoying our Charcoal Pigment.
